The Junction, a community advice and drop-in centre, is part of The King’s Cross Church in a converted Public House between 5 – 10 minutes’ walk from the main church premises. It provides a safe environment for people from the wider community to meet together and to access various forms of help and advice as well as gain friendship and support. Various activities such as Grow, Cook and Eat and a craft group are undertaken together, and we also offer computer lessons on a one-to-one basis. In addition, we host the local councillors’ surgery and regular drop-ins from the local PCSOs, Stronger Community Officers and Adult Contact Team. A monthly foot clinic for those who are homeless or on benefits is particularly well received. The Junction is open from 10am to 4pm each weekday, and is staffed by a team of able and willing volunteers from the church as well as a full-time manager.
There are a number of one-bedroomed flats attached to the property, which provide accommodation to people from the local area.
Lunchtime services (12.30pm) are held at The Junction each Tuesday, as well as occasional evening celebration services. We offer Christian love and support, and are happy to pray with, and for, people.
Everyone is welcome at The Junction, whether they are simply calling in for advice or a hot drink, or whether they visit on a regular basis.
